Senior Tax Accountant

Fenlex Corporate Services Ltd., one of the leading corporate service providers in Malta, is looking to recruit a Senior Tax Accountant.

The successful candidate chosen will form part of a dynamic team that handles a predominantly international clientele operating across a wide range of industries as well as the firm’s private clients. The role is therefore ideal for someone who wishes to broaden their experience and take on a challenge.

General Responsibilities include:

· Assisting in tax compliance and submission, including preparation and reviews of corporate income tax computations, income tax returns and tax refund applications along with dividend documentation in terms of tax law;

· Address technical tax matters and prepare complex tax computations and returns, including the application of the Notional Interest Deduction Rules and Consolidated (Income Tax) Rules;

· Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team

· Preparation and submission of personal income tax returns;

· Preparation of FATCA, CRS and other DAC related forms;

· Assisting with the preparation of publications;

· Assisting with advising clients with respect to Maltese tax implications and international tax developments;

· Liaise with the Local Authorities regarding routine compliance and tax matters;

· Participate in client meetings and maintaining strong client relationships

Requirements of the ideal Candidate:

· Fully qualified accountant

· Minimum two years’ of work experience in this sector

· Possession of the Malta Institute of Taxation professional certificate in taxation will be considered as an asset. Naturally if the candidate is not in possession of the professional certificate in taxation, then one’s work experience will have to compensate for this and the candidate should be willing to undertake this certification, if needed.

· Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook

· Excellent written and spoken English

· Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team;

· Be assertive and have an eye for detail;

· Good communication and organisational skills;

· Self-motivated and willing to learn;

· Able to work with strict deadlines;

· Knowledge and practice of Maltese VAT legislation will be considered an asset
